OUR STORY
Grand Cru Wineshop & Cellar is Western Australia’s oldest family-owned wine store and has always operated on the principles of value-for-money, regardless of price and perception.
Our flagship store, located in the iconic Beaucott Building at 654 Beaufort Street, is where the Grand Cru story started.
THE GRAND CRU STORY BEGINS IN 1974
Vincenzo Salpietro Snr and his son, Charlie, established the very first Grand Cru store in 1974. They transformed the then grocery/beer store into a fully-fledged liquor retail outlet. Charlie guided and expanded the business through the 80’s and 90’s, really cementing a reputation for great service.
Vince, the third generation, literally grew up in the business. But he only officially joined Grand Cru Wineshop in the late 90’s. Vince quickly set about cataloguing the family’s extensive collections of wine, Champagne and fortified wine.
IN 1999
The family built the largest purpose-built underground wine cellar in Perth, which currently houses some of the rarest wines in the country.

IN 2010
By this time, the business had transitioned from a corner liquor store to one of Australia’s most talked about wine merchants.
Well and truly in the hands of the third generation, Vince began to drive the expansion of Grand Cru Wineshop & Cellar, with plans to open more stores across the Perth Metropolitan area.
IN 2018
Grand Cru Wineshop Nedlands opened its doors to Perth’s premier Western Suburbs.
Youen Duprez leads the small, but powerful, team with his extensive experience in the wine industry, and expert knowledge of customers within the area.
IN 2021
Grand Cru Wineshop Ardross joined the expanding group.
With a location south of the river, Vince took charge of doing what he is passionate about: bringing fair prices back to people.
Today, Grand Cru Wineshop & Cellar is a multifaceted business, and includes:
Private wine cellar management
Regular private and corporate wine tastings catered by our private chefs
Customer wine storage
The Grand Cru Wine Club
And if that’s not enough, Vince also manages many of Perth’s high net-worth individual’s private wine cellars.
